INTRODUCTION

Following the success of the previous International Conference on Sustainability in Civil Engineering with more than 300 presenters and participants from many countries and regions, the 5th ICSCE 2024 will be held at the University of Transport and Communications, Hanoi, Vietnam, on 23-25th October 2024. The conference theme is "Green Sustainable in Civil Engineering."

ICSCE 2024 OBJECTIVE

The objectives of the conference are the coverage of current issues in the field of sustainable development and to provide effective and innovative solutions in addressing sustainability challenges.

1. Prof. Dr. Said Easa, Toronto Metropolitan University, Canada

Professor Said Easa is a Civil Engineering Professor at Toronto Metropolitan University, Canada. He received his B.Sc. degree from Cairo University (Egypt) in 1972, M.Eng. degree from McMaster University (Canada) in 1976, and Ph.D. degree from the University of California at Berkeley (U.S.) in 1982. Dr. Easa is a Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Engineering, Engineering Institute of Canada, and Canadian Society for Civil Engineering (CSCE).

2. Prof. Dr. Titi SUI, Hohai University

Dr. Titi Sui obtained his Bachelor degree majoring in Civil Engineering in 2010 and PhD degree majoring in Coastal Harbor and Offshore Engineering in 2016, both from Hohai University, China. From 2013-2014, he came to University of Dundee, UK as a visiting scholar. From 2016-2019, he came to the Technical University of Denmark for the post-doctoral research. 3. Prof. Dr. Chih-Chung Chung, National Central University, Taiwan

Chih-Chung Chung is a Professor of Civil Engineering with the National Central University, Taiwan. He received the B.S. and Ph.D. degrees in engineering from the Civil Engineering Department, National Chiao Tung University, Taiwan, in 2002 and 2008, respectively.

4. Prof. Dr. Cédric Sauzéat, University Lyon/ENTPE

Cédric Sauzéat is a French professor at Uni. Lyon/ENTPE, affiliated with the Laboratory of Tribology and Dynamics Systems (CNRS joint unit 5513). He earned his PhD in Civil Engineering with specialization in Soil Mechanics from INSA Lyon in January 2003. Prior to that, he graduated from ENTPE in 1997 and simultaneously earned his Master’s degree. Since 2003, he has been actively engaged in the field of pavement materials and structures. 5. Prof. Dr. Hervé DI BENEDETTO, Emeritus Professor of University of Lyon/ENTPE

Professor Hervé Di Benedetto received his Diploma of Civil Engineer from the “Ecole Nationale des TPE” (ENTPE, University of Lyon) and his PhD from the University of Grenoble, France. Currently he is Emeritus Professor at University of Lyon/ENTPE, member of “Laboratoire de Tribologie & Dynamique des Systèmes” (LTDS, UMR CNRS 5513).

Prof. Di Benedetto’s research activities focus on the study of mechanical, thermo-mechanical behaviour of geomaterials and structures, including experimental and modelling aspects. He is working in the fields of soil mechanics and road engineering.

6. Prof. Dr. Tomio Miwa, Nagoya UniversityDr. Tomio MIWA, Institute of Innovation for Futrure Society, Nagoya University, Japan

Dr. Tomio Miwa is a Professor at the Institute of Innovation for Future Society, Nagoya University, Japan. He obtained his Bachelor's, Master's, and Doctor degrees in Engineering from Nagoya University in 1998, 2000, and 2005, respectively. He is currently the assistant director of the Institute of Innovation for Future Society, Nagoya University. His research interests span various transportation areas, including Transportation Planning, Travel Behavior Analysis, and Intelligent Transport Systems.
